We will use your generous donation to manufacture and deliver a bicycle to a person in need. Since we focus on serving the poor, oftentimes we "finance" the bikes, allowing the customer pays an amount upfront and then make weekly payments. Once the bicycle you donated is paid for, we use those same funds to manufacture and deliver another bicycle. The cycle repeats itself indefinitely, meaning that your money will live for a long time, making a difference again and again.

The Portal Cargo Bike rides like a normal bicycle, yet it can carry huge loads. It is a flexible platform that is designed to connect with a broad range of tools and accessories. This allows the bike to be easily customized to suit a variety of applications. This means that chores are done more quickly, freeing time for children to study, this means that a family can move and process more crops, generating extra income, and this means that pathways out of poverty are being created.
Power Machines
The Bicycle Power Take Off converts a bicycle into a pedal powered machine without compromising its capability as a bicycle. A rotating shaft provides power whenever the rear wheel is turning. A sturdy kickstand supports the bicycle, allowing it to be pedaled in a stationary position. Tools easily connect to the PTO, allowing the user to pump water, grind grain, generate electricity, wash clothes, etc. If it rotates, chances are pretty good you can power it with a Portal PTO.

Bharat Koirala supplies sanitary and household items to stores and individuals across Kathmandu. From his shop in Lalitpur he loads up his Portal Bicycle with stock for the day and rides it out to customers. He makes this trip 7 days a week, alternating between different areas of the city.
SHANKAR LAMA
Sankhar Lama is a potato chips salesman and distributor in Kathmandu, Nepal. Everyday, he loads his Portal Cargo Bike with nearly 500 bags of potato chips and delivers them to 40-50 family-run small businesses around the city. It's incredible how much he can comfortably and safely carry on his bike!
